How to be a guardian of democracy

When you become part of a resistance movement whose purpose is to affect change and bring more progressive policies you will be resisting powerful opponents. You goal and guiding principals should be clear. Your goal is to prevent Donald Tr_mp’s agenda–prevent the destruction of democracy through public action.

You will need to accept some sobering truths.

Donald Tr_mp is attempting to use his congressional majority to reshape the U.S.A. into a tyrannical authoritarian state by targeting the basic rights of marginalized groups, dispensing privilege to a corrupt elite class, and by suppressing the media.  This must be stopped.

To resist, some loss must occur: loss of time away from people, places and things you love, loss of treasure, and loss privacy. You must be a public person and take a stand.

You will need to base your actions in a group, not just individual actions. More we, less me.

We must model, in our daily actions, the values we honor in the face of harsh opposition: inclusivity, just-evenhandedness, and acceptance.

We will respond to the fascist-style agenda by supporting progressive ideals and human rights: healthcare for all citizens, equality among all marginalized citizens, a clean environment, economic justice, and above all, freedom of speech.

Research how you can make a difference, and know you are in the majority of citizens that are fighting to regain our basic freedoms.  Start by downloading a free resource here. You will find a guide and locations of groups that are near you that are eager to preserve and defend democracy.

I really hope I am wrong, but history really looks like it is repeating itself and we are about to enter a very challenging time. I have never wanted to be more wrong in my life.
